The Greek national forum took place on the 4th of July, in Athens, with a total number of around 239 participants. The answers of the attendees to a relevant questionnaire after the event have shown that the event has been a big success and fulfilled its purposes. Speakers and the attendees were covering all the domains of the PV sector in Greece: governmental authorities, regulators and legislators, DSOs, other national associations for energy, engineers and PV installers.

On behalf of HELAPCO, Stelios Psomas, Policy Advisor of the organization, made an introductory presentation regarding the scope of the PV GRID Project, followed by Ioannis Theologitis, representing EPIA, who described the broad range of technical solutions available. Ricardo Lama from ENEL Distribuzione elaborated more on these solutions giving specific examples from the experience in Italy. Professor Dokopoulos from Thessaloniki University presented the outcomes of a grid study commissioned by HELAPCO on the capacity of grids in Greece. Giannis Kambouris and Nikos Drosos gave the opinion of the national TSO and DSO respectively, while Alex Papalexopoulos, IEEE Fellow, gave a generic view of the challenges of a considerable penetration of PV to the grids.

The forum ended with a lively discussion where most of the speakers agreed that technical solutions are available today and that existing grids in Greece could host up to 6 GWp of PV with no problems.
